As we approach the end of 2013, it’s time to look back on the big stories and trends that defined the year. Often, most of the focus is on celebrities, sports figures, or gossip. We also wanted to celebrate people who gave us courage and inspired us to do more. By breaking barriers, overcoming tragedy, and changing our world, a singular group of women have shown us all what the human spirit can achieve.
